More than 200 squatters from Chepchoina settlement scheme along West Pokot and Trans-nzoia border held a demonstration to protest alleged land grabbing. The squatters claim they were allocated the land by the agricultural development co-operation in 1994 and 1997.

The number of patients reported with Hepatitis 'A' in Mombasa county has risen to 61, with 51 more people testing positive in an ongoing surveillance by public health officers.
According to the Mombasa county health executive majority of the cases are suspected to have arisen from the consumption of water drawn contaminated sources.

The government has been urged to put into consideration the needs of persons living with disabilities in its new push for the review of the education curriculum. Speaking at a seminar for special education teachers in Ruiru town, nominated MP Isaac Mwaura said students with various forms of disabilities should be allocated more time when sitting for national examinations.

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, has declared his interest in the Presidential seat in the year 2022 but says he will support ODM leader Raila Odinga to be the cord presidential flag-bearer in 2017 .

A group of women in Molo district in Mukinyai village have taken it upon themselves to fight the sale of illicit brew in their locality.

The angry women protested against the failure by the police and the Provincial Administrator to fight the sale of illicit brew. In addition to that they decided to forward their complaints to the Sachangwan Police Post.
Mary Wangeci one of the residents added that the men in the area who indulged  in taking of the illicit brew are unable to perform  their marital obligations.
Joseph Mwangi who is also a resident in the area said that most of the youth in the area have have lost their lives due to the consumption of the illicit brew.
