Property worth Ksh.8M and over, was destroyed last night after a fire broke out at a dormitory in Aiyebo Boys High School in Baringo-North sub-county.

It is suspected that the students who went on rampage four weeks ago, over the school's poor performance in the 2015 KCSE examination, were involved.

The students have now been sent home as police undertake investigations into the cause of the fire.

The former President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Erick Mutua has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to consider inviting members of the CORD coalition to undertake a fresh verification of the Okoa Kenya signatures.

Mutua says this will help clear the notion that the Electoral body was in dalliance with the government.

A day before President Uhuru Kenyatta gives Jubilee's scorecard in tomorrow's State of the Nation speech before a joint sitting of parliament, his Deputy William Ruto has set the tempo on the topic on everyone's lips, Corruption.

The Deputy President responding to questions on Jubilee's scorecard dismissed claims that the coalition has faltered on its Anti Graft campaign that kicked off on the 26th of March last year when President Kenyatta tabled a list of shame implicating 175 government officials.

DP Ruto has instead turned the heat on the judiciary. The Deputy President defended the Kenyatta administration saying in its three year battle with corruption, six cabinet secretaries were sent home though no convictions yet.

He did enumerate the recovery of more than Kshs.2B stashed in Western capitals and the multi agency approach to fight graft as serious initiatives.

On development, the DP admitted a 100 percent target to implement development projects is highly unattainable.

Enraged women take to the streets protesting the alleged killing of one of their own.

This after the body of a woman was discovered dumped in a bush in Kongelai division, West Pokot county.

It is alleged that woman was suspected of infidelity, which had infuriated husband and his in-laws.

Neigbours claim the husband together with his brother had tortured the woman to death.

The police have launched investigations and vowed that the culprits will be bought to book.

Curious onlookers flocked the scene of the shootout that marked the end of the road for three suspected robbers who were are believed to have been plotting to rob this petrol station at Bamburi in Mombasa.

Confirming the incident, Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia said police had been trailing the thugs after the vehicle they were using was noted making suspicious movements in and out of Mombasa Island.

The 11 pm incident left the three robbers dead, however one managed to escape, one police was injured during the shoot out.

Police also recovered a pistol from the robbers, they suspect it had been stolen from a business man who was recently murdered.

police have now called on the residents to be on the look out for suspicious characters.

Manchester City centre-back Martin Demichelis has been charged with misconduct in relation to betting, England's Football Association announced on Wednesday.

"It is alleged the player committed 12 breaches of FA Rule E8 concerning football matches between 22 January 2016 and 28 January 2016," the FA said in a statement.

Argentina international Demichelis, 35, has until 1800 GMT on April 5 to respond to the charge. FA Rule E8 states that players must not bet "either directly or indirectly, or instruct, permit, cause or enable any person to bet on" any "result, progress or conduct of a match or competition" in which they participate or over which they have any influence.

Demichelis has made 29 appearances for City this season, most recently in their 1-0 Premier League loss at home to Manchester United.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa has defended under fire Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi after the team's second loss in five days under the hands of Guinea Bissau, that ended their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations campaign at the weekend.

Mwendwa said even celebrated coach Marshal Mulwa lost his first six matches when he took over the national team, but later delivered three back-to-back regional titles. “I purely believe that luck was not on our side against Guinea Bissau, but we also have to admit that the problem is not the coach,” said Mwendwa.

He added: “We lack talent and we cannot hide it. It is time to start looking for talent from the junior teams because even if we hire Jose Mourinho and pay him millions, we won't go to Afcon or World Cup overnight, we need a long term solution.”

Knec has officially cancelled last year’s KCSE exam results for Nambale Boys’ High school in Busia county. Principal Solomon Sisuma said out of the 245 candidates who sat the exam last year, only three got their results.

Addressing parents and the affected students, Sisuma said Knec had instructed that the 242 students be registered to sit this year’s exams. —HENRY ANDANJE

The Caritas Mariano children's home , run by a Nigerian missionary, was issued with orders to close with immediate effect to pave way for investigations.
